What is operational resilience?
Organisational resilience refers to an organisation's overall capacity to adapt, learn, and thrive over the long term, even in the face of disruption. Operational resilience is more focused. It is about ensuring the continuity of essential services in the face of disruption.
Examples of our work
How security management integrates with operational resilience
This project, commissioned by the ASIS Foundation, examined how security functions can strengthen their contribution to operational resilience. Drawing on a global literature review and interviews with 20 senior practitioners across multiple sectors and continents, our findings reveal that security is already performing critical operational resilience work. However, there is an opportunity to improve the depth and maturity of engagement in broader resilience strategies and governance structures to enhance the impact of the sector.
Design of an Operational Resilience framework for effective implementation
We are working with a crown entity to design a framework to enable evaluation of operational resilience in their context. This framework will enable:
- A stocktake or baseline of their current level of operational resilience.
- Assessment and prioritisation of gaps to guide work programme design
- Ongoing measurement and monitoring of progress.
