This work will contribute to a growing evidence base aimed at improving insurance settlement programmes for residential property owners, enabling quality housing repairs.
This project will investigate the claims settlement process through a survey of claimants and interviews with key stakeholders, including building contractors, insurance assessors, real estate agents, and building control authorities.
Findings will identify successful practices and opportunities for improvement, ultimately leading to insurance settlement and housing repair processes that are better designed to suit different contexts and needs, and provide support for homeowners to manage the repair process effectively.
