Introducing our new Consulting Analyst, Cameron Eade
We recently welcomed Cameron Eade to our team as a Consulting Analyst. Below he shares a bit about his background and life outside of work.
Born and raised in Invercargill, I made the move to Christchurch in 2015 where I studied a BA/LLB at the University of Canterbury. In the latter stages of my undergrad, I became involved as a legal research assistant within QuakeCoRE. This subsequently led me to complete a QuakeCoRE-funded Master of Laws from 2020-2021, examining legal frameworks for managing the seismic risk of existing buildings. It is certainly safe to say that I have inadvertently become the default friend for answering questions about all things earthquakes!
While at University I also had the privilege of partaking in various study and work experiences overseas, including a semester at the University of Copenhagen and a three-month legislative internship in the US House of Representatives in Washington DC. These are hands-down two of favourite life experiences so far; the former fuelled my passion for urban design and transport (cycling in NZ does not come close to cycling in Denmark), while the latter saw me brush shoulders with some of the most internationally well-known lawmakers and witness political history first-hand (a dream for the politically engaged!).
Outside of work and study, my general interests lie between reading, cycling, running, food, and (for now, domestic) travel. Recently I also began duties as “uncle-in-law” of my partner’s parent’s King Charles Cavalier, named Pavlov, which is more enjoyable now he has passed the stage of pre-5am wakeups while dog-sitting!
I am incredibly grateful to be able to remain in Christchurch and to have joined the wonderful ResOrgs team!
Thanks Cam, we look forward to having you part of our team.
