CIMS PIM - RRANZ's first public course a resounding success!

RRANZ, the training consortium ResOrgs partners with to deliver national-level emergency management training, has just run its first public CIMS PIM course.

RRANZ is offering the CIMS PIM course to make high-quality Public Information Management training accessible to everyone with a role to play in emergency management - whether in central or local government, emergency services, or a support agency.

Communications professionals are well prepared for the work they do every day. But when a major incident hits and the call comes to step into a formal PIM role, the landscape shifts considerably. This two-day course helps people step confidently into the PIM function - before the next incident demands it of them.

Thanks to Rachel Thornton and James Thompson of Canterbury CDEM for enabling the completion of this national PIM product, and to all the participants - from MBIE, Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand, DOC, Environment Southland, AREC, Napier City Council and Hamilton City Council - for making the course such a success.

What did participants think?

"Having Michele as facilitator was so valuable - so knowledgeable, so honest and open. It felt like we were in good hands. The discussions were so valuable, as was having peers from around the country and different organisations."

"Michele and Tracy's wealth of knowledge was invaluable, and their willingness to answer questions and let conversations flow."

"Wonderful pace for learning, good content coverage!"
