What’s it like to work at ResOrgs?

If you join ResOrgs, you will be part of a passionate, curious, and creative team driven by the desire to build our clients’ and communities’ capacity to respond, adapt, and grow with change.

Being part of a small team means there will be plenty of variety in your work and plenty of opportunities to learn and grow.

Practicing what we preach

In our work, we try very hard to live our values.

  • We are collaborative and connected. We connect and work within our team and with a wide variety of external partners.
  • We are curious and creative. We ask why and how and look for connections between concepts to create a better outcome.
  • We are catalytic and vibrant. We make a difference in how risk and resilience are understood, managed, and developed.  We bring that passion to each and every project, seeing how the small puzzle pieces can ultimately build a better whole.
  • We care and have integrity. We don’t come to work just for the paycheck; we come to get satisfaction from delivering quality to our clients and funders.

Our working environment

We occupy a character building in Christchurch – wooden floors, red brick walls with endless windows just on the fringe of the city centre (and good coffee right next door!).  There is bike parking and a shower, and we are two blocks from the bus exchange.

On any given day, there might be 7 of us in the office, or just 1. You may have six projects you contribute to or just one project with a team focus. There might be a dog occasionally to keep you company, or more rarely a child. Or you might be choosing to work from home because that works best for you that day.

What we offer

  • Flexible working arrangements – work-life balance is more than just a slogan.
  • A positive, supportive, inclusive and respectful environment where our people flourish, feel good and function well. As a small team, we are flexible and keep the bureaucracy to a minimum.
  • Professional development - we will support your career development externally through conference attendance and training opportunities and internally through informal mentoring and working on projects of interest to you.
