Charlotte is a Senior Research Consultant with Resilient Organisations Ltd.
Charlotte has a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with Honours (2002) from the University of Canterbury. After 5 years as an environmental and civil engineering consultant, Charlotte embarked on a PhD. Her thesis, completed in 2012, was titled “Disaster Waste Management: a systems approach”.
After a short period teaching civil engineering at the Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology, Charlotte joined Resilient Organisations full time. Charlotte has been involved in a range of projects to date including the on-going development of the Benchmark Resilience Tool, benchmarking the resilience of critical infrastructure organisations in New Zealand, analysing the recovery of organisations following the Canterbury earthquakes (as part of the Economics of Resilient Infrastructure project), investigating commercial insurance effectiveness and developing a multi-capital decision-making tool for disaster risk management. Charlotte's research interests include risk management, systems thinking, decision-making and resilience.
